Hornady Frontier® 5.56 NATO 55 gr FMJ (M193) is American-made rifle ammunition loaded by Hornady to the familiar M193 ball spec. The 150-round box covers a full range day, a carbine class or a stack of practice magazines without juggling a pile of 20-round boxes.
Each cartridge pairs a 55 grain full metal jacket bullet with a brass case, a military-grade boxer primer and military-grade propellant. Hornady rates it at 3,240 fps and 1,282 ft-lbs at the muzzle from a 20″ test barrel, still moving 2,468 fps at 200 yards. The bullets have no steel core, so they’re target friendly at most ranges, and Hornady’s loading and quality-control process is built for consistent, reliable function round after round.
